Llandudno TT League Round Up Week 22 Div 2
In the second division, North Wales Police B beat Denbigh B 9-1 to move six points clear at the top but they have played one game more than rivals Denbigh A. Kevin Evans remains unbeaten and now tops the individual averages having played in the qualifying 60% of his teams matches. He did not drop a game on the night. He has taken over at the top from his teammate Peter Roberts who was made to work hard on the night and was taken to a fifth game decider by Iain MacGillivray before securing his maximum. John Cartwright was involved in two tight five-game encounters he beat Iain 11-9 in the decider but lost out to Donald Grigg 10-12. The most surprising result of the week witnessed Denbigh B beating Craig-y-don A 7-3 to secure their fourth win of the campaign. Donald Grigg landed a fine maximum taking the scalps of Nigel Watson, Bill Williams and John Bastin who all played in the first division two seasons ago. Ian MacGillivray also had a great night beating Bill and John. Not to be out done Ioan Marshman chipped in beating Bill and narrowly losing out to John 11-13 in the fifth. Trinity E beat Denbigh C 7-3 with another Josh Gilmore maximum who overcame Martin Bill over five games and a brace for captain Elliot Gough. The closest match of the week involved Amlwch C and Rhyl BDave Foster representing Rhyl B won his three including a five-game thriller against Gwyn Evans that earned Rhyl the draw. The islanders pairing of Matthew Winnett and Gwyn won an important doubles encounter over four games and individually they both won two of their singles matches.
