In the first division, Trinity A is a clear second after an 8-2 victory over Trinity D. Abishek Bathula secured a maximum and Chris Phillips starred for the D team beating Stuart Dearden and Ben Moore. The closest encounter witnessed Ben beating Rob Stewart in a five-game thriller. Trinity B is up to third having beaten Trinity C 6-4. The previous two meetings in the derby had gone the way of the C team. Six of the matches went to fifth-game deciders. The strongest player on the night was Matthew Fox; representing Trinity C, who secured a maximum. The tightest of the five-game thrillers involved Ben Moore beatingSean Lucas 12-10 in the decider with two of the other four games going beyond ten points.Y Morfa B now have clear blue water between themselves and the bottom half of the table thanks to a 6-4 away win against Llandudno Junction. Andy Horton won all his games in four-game matches, Rob Stanway won two as did Junction’s Graham Heath. The doubles was the closest fought match with Llandudno Junction coming back from two down to win the next three 11-9, 11-9 11-9 but it was not enough.

 

In the second division, North Wales Police B is seven points clear at the top, but Denbigh Ahave a game in hand. Police B beat Craig-y-don A 9-1, the home team's sole point was gained when Nigel Watson beat John Cartwright in a close five-game match. Kevin Evansand Peter Roberts secured maximums. Kevin did not drop a game on the night Peter was taken to five by Nigel and to four by John Bastin. Denbigh A beat Craig-y-don B 7-3. Roger Rowett proved the strongest player winning his three dropping two games. Ady Waughbecame only the second player this season to beat Harold Furber en route to his hard-fought brace, where he also overcame Kath Mitchel-Dawson over five games. Wylfa C is clearly in fifth spot in the division having disposed of sixth place Denbigh B by an 8-2 score-line. Gwyn Evans was the star here securing his maximum in two five game thrillers and a four game encounter. All the islanders were involved in at least one five game battle on the night. Mark Hadcock,Matthew Winnett and Iain MacGillivray all won two apiece. Rhyl Bbeat Trinity E 7-3, the game of the night witnessed Rhyl’s Dave Foster beating Josh Gilmore in five to secure his maximum and deny Josh his third win on the night. The Rhyl pairing of Dave Foster and John Hughes prevailed in five at the expense of Josh Gilmoreand Elliot Gough.
