Week 7, 4 matches to go, and we have a 4-way tie at the top with only 4 games difference between the four
teams. It’s building up to a very exciting finish. Current leaders, Rowhedge G (Jamie Morgan & Jarek Sahaj)
lost 4-1 and with it their 100% record, to defending champions Rowhedge E (Jared Chelski & Chloe Andrews) with Jared again unbeaten but ably supported by Chloe. Pegasus B (Vic Little & Gill Canning) moved up to equal
top spot with a fine 4-1 win over Gt. Horkesley A (Steve Holland & Keith Monk) using their handicaps,
coupled with a few nets and edges, to great effect. Moving up stealthily are Dedham A (Jennie Clarke &
Denise Thompson) who beat Rowhedge F (Martin Edwards & Peter Simmonds) 5-0 and, again, they have a
habit of making their handicaps look very generous when they make few mistakes in their own play. Tollgate A
(Roger Hance & Matt Horrocks) beat Rowhedge C (John Andrews & David Moss) 3-2 but this result could
have possibly been reversed had David played with conventional rubbers instead of his “new feature” of pimps
out. Look out once he fine tunes his style of play necessary with pimps! Rowhedge A (Roger Clarke & Martin
Lewis) recorded a fine 4-1 win over Pegasus A (Steve Noble & Stan Flint) and like the Dedham ladies their
handicaps appear generous when they play to a high standard on the night. Rowhedge B (Kamil Lentas & Pawel Szermo) just edged out Rowhedge D (Ronnie Kullick & Tim Leung) 3-2 with no one remaining unbeaten.
Next week there is another test for Jared & Chloe when they play the Dedham ladies. Bottom placed Pegasus A
face Rowhedge B who are looking to move further up the table. Rowhedge D play Tollgate A with points for the
Rowhedge side will see them move away from the bottom. Pegasus A are matched with Rowhedge G, a win for
either side will give them a 2 point gap. Rowhedge F, winless for quite a few weeks, play Gt. Horkesley A with
both sides needing the points for differing reasons. Finally the other 2 Rowhedge sides, A & C, meet in a mid
table clash.
