Club Report Oct 13th 2013

The A Team had a tough game at home to the current Champions who also supply most of the Durham County Veterans Team and have recently drafted in Graham Barella and a top County player From Northumbria Score 1-9.

The Bombers were away at Redby A and won 6-4 with Dan Nicholson, Ian McPherson and Nigel Coe playing really well.

The Chargers were playing St John’s C but ran out of time and did not complete their match, we aren’t sure what happens now

The Desperadoes had a very competitive game playing at St John’s B whose players included one of the top Junior County players Robert Renton. Although some of the individual games were close only Erin won 2 but both Oliver King and Sean Patterson did really well and did not let the club down. The overall result was 2-8 but Erin so impressed the opposition secretary, she was awarded Player of the Match. Well done Erin

The Comets did not have a game in the Northumberland league but have dropped to 2nd place after Matfen B  overtook them.

Breaking News: The club are looking at playing their home matches to Freemans Quay. This may take place very soon, but we will need to move a table over to the Centre. Keep an eye on Face-book and the website.

Some of our Juniors are attending a regional training session at Bishop Auckland on Tuesday evening where Matt Stanforth and Matt Porter will be coaching. This is a tremendous opportunity to improve the quality of their game.

The Move into Sport sessions seem to be working very well with reasonable attendance.

Club night is still on at Fyndoune Gym on Wednesday from 6.30, and we also have the Sports Hall booked at Fyndoune Sports Hall on a Friday night from 7.00 if anybody wishes to play.

The Management Committee are looking at budgets and there may have to be an increase in subs and/or match fees. Team registration fees to the leagues, amounts to £1.20 per game and that does not include Hall fees or equipment costs.
