Brandon Energy V Comets

Comets went on the road to continue their drive for promotion but were up against a strengthened Energy side who had regulars Will and Alex Murphy but drafted in Bill McClennan.

Comets had the twins Nikki and Debbie Irwin joined by Matt Greenwood.

Nikki and Debbie proved unbeatable on the night taking all their singles. Matt dropped one game against Will Murphy and with Comets also dropping the doubles,  Energy took two valuable points but went down 8-2 to Comets.

Eagles v Desperadoes

The interclub derby was played with nothing given away from either side. Desperadoes had to draft in Nigel Duffin to join Kevin Richardson and Chris Jennings and Eagles played their regular trio of Jack Pugh, Haydn Williamson and Luke Dumighan. Both Kevin and Nigel used their defensive skills to best advantage to cause all the youngsters from the Eagles problems, which left Kevin with MVP as he took all his games. However both Haydn and Jack played a tactical game against Nigel and came through over the 5 ends. Luke was unlucky against Kevin taking an end off him and staying within a few points in every end. Chris used his fantastic driving forehands to excellent effect but wasn’t consistent enough to finish any game off. The doubles between Jack and Luke against Kevin and Nigel completed the evening and the more experienced Desperadoes took it to peg the game at 5-5 splitting the points.
