Brandon D V Eagles

Eagles with young Luke Dumighan and Jack Pugh travelled with Paul Salkeld to Brandon and gave a good account of themselves against some very experienced opponents in Ryan Morton, John Parkin and Ian Cumpson. Young Luke Dumighan was in excellent form and when he used his forehand drive it was unplayable but unfortunately he managed only one end in his matches. Jack played well and took 2 games but couldn't cope with Ryan Mortons driving play, and Paul took a game and was very close in his game with John Parkin, but lost in the final end. The doubles was a close affair but the consistency of John Parkin enabled the Brandon team to take it and the match 7-3.

Bombers v Backspin A
A cracking match between some of the most talented youngsters in the area. Bombers were fielding Dan Hutchinson and Max Duffin with Ian McPherson and Backspin TTC (formerly Lanchester) had Thaaqib Saleem and Liam Ord alongside the experienced Davy McAllister in a match that will surely have promotion bearing consequences. Games between the youngsters were fast and furious but Max and Dan proved unbeatable on the night taking all their singles and combining to take the doubles as well. Ian was on his return from injury and the match proved too early and he struggled giving each of the Backspin team 1 win each Final score 7-3 to Bombers.

Backspin b V Desperadoes

Backspin, the former Lanchester Team have moved venues and evenings but still retain the talented  teams that they had, and in their B team, was the experienced John Cook, with youngsters Adam Butler and Lyndsey Beacham.  Desperadoes had regulars Kevin Richardson, and the father and son pairing, Nigel and Sam Duffin.

The score was one sided, but looking at the scores shows that no games were walkovers and every Backspin point was a hard fought affair, but only Sam had a victory leaving Backspin 9-1 winners
