Vulcan newcomer Terry Emmerson, posted a Premier Division treble to steer Redtooth ‘A’ to a 6-4 win over the youthful Scorpions ‘A’ side of Adam Szabo, Aaran Radford and Stephen Arliss. The experienced visitors narrowly head the top flight table, a point in front of Scorpions who have played one game more than the leaders. Chris Cattell made short work of Radford and Farrel Anthony overcame Szabo in a tight four game contest. An Arliss double was the best performance for the hosts.

Sarah Thorne took her maiden hat trick for Abbeydale ‘C’during a 6-4 victory over Crookes ‘B’ in S17. Sarah’s victims were Abid Raja, Andy Baxter and Ron Watson and her perfect match was completed with a doubles triumph alongside Kevin Tann. John Gialluca and Tann both accounted for Watson, while Baxter Baxter and Raja both recorded braces for the visitors who lie in second place in Division One.

Division Two leaders Wadsley Bridge ‘A’dropped both points at Clifton ‘D’ where club supremo Francis Lovell and Sam Thompson both scored twice against Jim Kenny and Trevor Parsons. The pair teamed up to take the doubles set and Pete Gateley completed the scoring in a 6-4 win for the hosts. Steve Cross took the plaudits for Wadsley with a maximum.

Division Three strugglers Hallam Grange ‘C’ recorded their first win of the campaign with a 6-4 result at Phil’s Pumas. Hallam’s heavy lifting was largely shouldered by Nigel Repper who posted a hat trick and paired up with John Skinner to take the doubles set. Skinner completed the visitor’s tally with hard fought wins over Adam Finch and Emma Ryalls.
