Comfortable wins by the top two sides in the First Division, Torbay Academy I with an 8-2 victory over their 2^nd team and N A Batmen defeating Brixham Trawlers 9-1, opens up a gap at the top of the table.  Halwell, in third place, shared the points with Dawlish Aces, with Dave Wadling getting a maximum for Halwell.

Second Division leaders Taverners  slipped up at Battlers, going down 6-4, just being edged out in a close last doubles. Jim McIvor was in fine form for N A Eagles helping his side to a 7-3 victory over Brixham Imports. Brixham Swallows bounced back to form with an excellent 9-1 win over a weakened Marldon Tykes side and Brixham Pirates got their season off the ground with their first win against Marldon.

Denbury Tykes stretched their lead at the top of the Third Division with big wins over Brixham Swifts 10-0 and Torre Warriors 9-1.  Dawlish Diamonds’ 8-2 victory over Brixham Rebels keeps them in touch with the leaders.

Torbay Academy IV’s 7- 3 defeat of their fifth team took them to the top of the table, and Karol Lapa gained a maximum for the Academy IV team.  N A Falcons defeated stablemates N A Hawks 7-3 despite another fine maximum from the Hawks’ Dan Webster-Hall.  League sponsor Robert Excell secured a maximum for his side Torre Nadoes as they defeated N A Kestrels 7-3 to join the Academy IV side at the top of the table.

The South Devon & Torbay Table Tennis League - Early Season Tournament          

The Leagues Early Season Tournament took place at the Torbay Leisure Centre on Sunday 16^th November.  The main event being the Collins Cup Handicap Singles which was won by Newton Abbots Kelvin Cheung beating Club colleague Dan Webster Hall 4-11, 11-4, 11-7, 15-13.  The Excel hard bat cup was won for the 11^th time by Newton Abbot's Dennis Gibbs who defeated Brixham’s Alan Maynard 21-11, 21-5. And to round off a very successful day for the Newton Abbot Club Albert Gomez & Doug Morgan defeated Zoe Barnett & Clive Banham in the handicap doubles 11-6,10-12, 11-6, 11-8.
