Things are hotting up at the top of the first Division.  Leaders Batmen had a week off which gave Torbay Academy the chance to go top. The Academy dropped points to struggling Dawlish Aces but still came through 7-3 to join Newton Abbot Batmen on 102 points at the top,  Favourites for the title, Brixham Sharks, had no trouble in brushing aside Brixham’s Gulls side 10-0 and now lie just 3 points behind the top two with a game in hand. At the bottom, Brixham Trawlers picked up 5 points in defeats against Halwell and Newton Bishops but it was not enough to move them off the bottom.

Taverners increased their lead at the top of the 2nd Division by beating Brixham Pirates 9-1 while their close rivals Torbay Academy II struggled to beat Marldon 6-4.  Sam Perkins got his maximum for the Academy side but both John Oatley & Graham Holmes got the better of his team mates as the Torbay side dropped 4 valuable points.  The gap is now 13 points but the Academy do have a game in hand and are still to play the Taverners in the last match of the season.  Bishops Academicals in 3^rd bounced back from a heavy defeat last week with a whitewash over bottom side Dawlish Diamonds.  Brixham Swallows beat Tykes 9-1 to move ahead of them in the table.

The 3^rd Division lead has changed yet again with Torbay Academy III back on top thanks to a fine 9-1 win over Dawlish Dynamos, however they lead Marldon Badgers by just 6 points with the Badgers having played two games less. Bottom side Brixham Dolphins, aided by new signing Joe Holmes, avoided defeat for the first time this season, picking up 5 points in a draw with their stablemates the Rebels. Brixham Swifts, just 1 point ahead of the Dolphins at the bottom, suffered a 9-1 defeat to Brixham Panthers and will be watching the Dolphins’ improvement with concern.  Brixham Rebels had a second drawn game in a close encounter with Dawlish Dynamos’ Martin Charlesworth gaining a fine maximum for the Dawlish side. 

The first side to book a place in the finals of the cup competitions are Torbay Academy I who defeated Halwell 5-1 in the Dyment Double Shield.
