TO TEAM CONTACTS
Thank you for entering a team in the South Devon and Torbay Table Tenns League for 2017/18.
You will shortly receive;
- handbooks for every registered player
- sufficient result cards for both League and Cup matches
- an entry form for the early season tournament on Sunday 19th November, further forms can be downloaded from our website
This season we have 36 teams across 4 divisions. Please can all teams try and get matches played with minimal postponements. Also please do your best to organise your league / cup programme efficiently. If any of the clubs / teams do NOT wish to enter either or both of the cup competitions this season then please let me know as soon as possible.
At the Brixham, Dawlish, Torre, Newton Abbot and Torbay Academy venues where a curfew is imposed, the Executive Committee STRONGLY RECOMMEND that teams ensure at least ONE player has arrived to enable play to commence at 7:00pm or as soon as possible after, with a SECOND player arriving NO LATER than 7:15pm.
It is also SUGGESTED that after the 5th set has been completed, if there is any possibility that the match may not be FINISHED in time, by agreement between the Team Captains the next game should be the DOUBLES SET (out of sequence) permitting singles matches to be played simultaneously on any spare tables in an attempt to prevent games having to be conceded.
The Executive Committee would also like to take this opportunity to remind players that for the avoidance of doubt, in this league format there is NO provision for 'TIME OUTS' and 'COACHING BETWEEN POINTS' is NOT PERMITTED. Would Team Contacts please ensure they relay this information to their players.
Can I remind everyone that it is a requirement that al League Players are members of Table Tennis England. League players must pay their TTE fee before the start of the season or matches where a non-member is played will be awarded 0-10 to the opponents.
All requests for registration of new players should be sent to the Secretary.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable and sporting season.
David Davies (Secretary)
