World Championships: England players’ draws

Tom Jarvis & Maria Tsaptsinos will be first on court for England when the World Championships gets under way in Budapest on Sunday.

They will take on Zsolt Peto & Andrea Todorovic of Serbia at 9am UK time. Sam Walker & Tin-Tin Ho are on at 9.30am against Santoo Shrestha & Nabita Shrestha of Nepal.

In the Women’s Singles, world No 202 Tsaptsinos is also first on, at 12.45pm UK time against Ana Stojanovska of Macedonia, who is currently unranked, in Group 54 of the Women’s Singles. Also in the group is the world No 178 Yadira Silva of Mexico.

Ho (WR 126) is in Group 26 and will start against Algeria’s Widad Nouari (WR 737), with Karen Lyne of Malaysia (WR 339) also in the group.

In the Men’s Singles, Jarvis (WR 215) is up against Jonathan Nativel of Madagascar, currently unranked, at 1.30pm. His second group match is against world No 189 Tobia Rasmussen of Denmark.

Walker (WR 86) is on court at 3.15pm against Arturs Reinholds of Latvia (WR 660), with Amir Hossein Hodaei of Iran (WR 508) also in the group.

Paul Drinkhall (WR 105) starts against Mattia Berardi of San Marino (WR 861) an also faces world No 435 Tyrese Knight of Barbados.

Liam Pitchford is the 15th seed and goes straight into the round of 128. He is in the bottom quadrant of the draw, seeded to meet China’s Xu Xin in the last 16.

In the Men’s Doubles, Walker & Drinkhall, and Pitchford & Jonathan Groth of Denmark are seeded into the main draw.

In the Women’s Doubles, Ho & Tsaptsinos face Kim Jin Hyang & Kim I Song of North Korea on Monday.
