Summer League 19 - 1st REPORT

DIVISION 1

Two weeks into the Summer League and in Divison 1 there have been strong starts for Lentern A, Warehouse A and Brand Identity A.

Lentern have been able to field some very strong players like Keith Adams and Kevin Read and if they are able to do that for the remainder of the campaign they are going to take some stopping. Some highlights from the first two weeks of matches saw Adams, Read along with Ian Wall push aside a good Rawreth A side 8-1 with Read going up against his Rawreth A colleague from the winter league Charles Sweeny. Elsewhere there was a much closer match that the score suggests when Hadleigh Forum A beat Invicta A 8-1. There were some very competitive and close games, none more so than that between the two Tony's, Jacks and Ayliffe. The advantage swung from one player to the other before  Jacks came out on top at 11/8 in the final end.

In week 2 Stanford recorded their first home win of the season Martin Archie unbeaten with Aaron Chandler and Peter Weatherall with a game each, Stanford winning 2 of the doubles and Harry Keys unbeaten for Canvey A. Brand Identity fielded a very strong team, and again will push Lentern all the way if they can continue to do so proving too much for Basildon A 8-1 with Richard Jackman, Adam Jackman and David Jacob all recording singles wins.
