The Spalding and District League returned to its league programme with a night where six of the seven matches were played plus three others made progress.
In Division 1 Jokers took a significant step forward moving into a six-point lead, while having a game in hand.
This week they faced Bladerunners and hit top form with a 5 – 0 win.
Sasha Martin’s double was not unexpected, but Guntars Briedes’ game has stepped up of late and it showed in this match, taking both points in straight ends.
Chasers South Holland suffered a setback against Outsiders going down by 2 – 3.
Jean White scored both Holland’s points but Keith Davey and Adrian Dinvlescu won the other three for the match.
Underdogs Kelvin Preville continued his fine form in taking two off JDM.
With JDM’s Phil Chandler and Danny Dorey winning their other singles it all came down to the Doubles in the middle which Underdogs took, though they needed two deuce games.
In a foot of a table clash between Mine’s a Pint and Aches and Pains only one game was resolved and that was the final one.
Garry Wilkinson took the first singles in four before Hannah Gilbert picked up her first top-flight win in five.
The Pinters won the doubles in five but Wilkinson settled their first win of the season, again in five.
Aches and Pains added another point in an unfinished match but Outsiders’ Dinvlescu secured a 3 – 1 lead with the doubles to be played.
On a busy night Outsiders Dinvlescu also caught up two games with Moulton S E but the Applebys were too strong, establishing a 4 – 0 lead.
