Dave Hayward

It is with great sadness that Frampton TTC have to announce that Dave Hayward, a member of the club for very many years and a regular player for the D team in the Stroud League, passed away on Monday in the Bristol Royal Infirmary following a suspected heart attack during the Albert Mann match at home to Forest Green A last Thursday.

On the night there were heroic efforts in administering CPR from own Simon Philp and FG’s Greg Holba with great support from Dave Adamson and Rob Munson until the paramedics arrived and to all of them we are extremely grateful for their efforts.

Prior to joining Frampton, Dave had been extremely active in establishing a table tennis hotbed in Nailsworth and Steve Porter fondly remembers playing his first table tennis over 40 years ago in the primary school opposite the Forest Green club under Dave’s tuition.

I know that many others in the Stroud table tennis community will have their own memories of Dave and will wish to remember them at his funeral.  I will let you know the date as soon as it is announced.
