Champions elect Forest Green A beat the visiting Woodchester B 7-3, but none of the home players could beat Clive Ellison who scored a max and finished as man of the match for the visitors. Phoenix A finished their campaign in good fashion when they beat their B team club mates 9-1 with Dave Hadley, Laurence Manley and Gordon Shaw all scoring maximums to finish with their highest ever points total. The points were shared at five all between Thornbury A and Woodchester A as they both look to finish as runners up although no one player could dominate.
Woodchester C went down 2-8 at home to top of the table Thornbury B with Simon Lewis scoring a max to finish as man of the match for the visitors. Randwick A keep up the pressure in second place when they defeated the visiting Whiteshill B 6-4 although it was the visitors Chris Varley who was man of the match with a maximum. Phoenix D drew five all against the two visiting players from Forest Green B with Jon Ramsbotham unbeaten in singles play for the Phoenix team.
In a division which has been very close all season it is apt that the title will be decided on Wednesday when Thornbury B play hosts to Randwick A.
It’s any two from three at the top of the division with the results going right to the last week. Randwick C hold the top position as they lead Nailsworth A by two points. The two sides clashed this week with Randwick edging the match 6-4, Lincoln Green scored a maximum for the visiting Randwick A to secure the win against Nailsworth A. Thornbury C remain in third place with a match in hand after they beat the visiting Randwick D 7-3, Steve Biles scored a max for the home side. Alex Horseman and Louise Rees each scored maximums for Phoenix E as they beat their F team club mates 8-2. Woodchester D beat the visiting Randwick B 8-2 with a maximum score coming from Colin Bruton.
Champions Cam & Dursley B completed their campaign with an 8-2 victory away at Phoenix H, Joe Collins was the top scorer on the night with a max for the visitors. Phoenix G whitewashed their I team club mates to finish a good second with Chris Hampton, Fadi Dahdouh and Sacha Curzon all undefeated on the night. Christine Burrows top scored for Thornbury D when they drew five all away to Cam & Dursley C. Alun Davies scored a max for Nailsworth B which helped his side to an 8-2 victory against the visiting Forest Green D. A Brian Cullis hat trick of wins helped Frampton D beat the visiting Nailsworth C 7-3.
