Week 13 of the Tamworth and District Table Tennis Association was lucky for some.

Tamworth Youth Club Retros beat Spital Daredevils 8-2.  Steve Smith was undefeated for Retros, supported by doubles from Tony Stewart and Carl Mountjoy.  Claire Baker played well on the night, securing Daredevils’ two points.  Hopwas Panthers drew 5-5 with Curdworth Wheelers Pingers. Alan Caffery and Trevor Davies both won two games for Panthers, while Rob Rowson scored a hat-trick of games for Pingers.

In Division Two, Netherseal Oak beat Hopwas Jokers 7-3. The Oak team of Brian Haggar, Mike Harker and Andy Pearce each scored doubles, all beaten by an Alistair Tallis treble for Jokers.  Tamworth Youth Club Future comprehensively beat Lichfield Barons 10-0.  The young Future team of Michael Bree, Lauren Evans and Matt Calloway were too strong for the Barons.  Lichfield Knaves beat Rugby Oddballs 8-2.  Dave Russell and Mark Balant won all of their games for Knaves and Gerbo Huisman scored a single, beaten by Kevin Wright and Dave Storr for Oddballs. Rugby Kings lost 10-0 to Netherseal Cedar.  Gary Carr, Charles Goodall and Steve Farrington combined well to win a match that was closer than the score-line would suggest.

In Division Three, Netherseal Ash beat Burntwood B.  Graham Clarke and George Parry were unbeaten for Netherseal, while Ian Farmer scored a single.  Lichfield Jets beat Tamworth Youth Club Noobs 10-0.  Jets’ Luke Sargent, Daniel Greathead and Morgan Sykes were too strong for the young Tamworth side.
