Top of the table Wilnecote Raiders had their toughest match to date against The T.Y.C. Wheelers Wiff Waffs. A deservedly close match with some brilliant rallies and game play. Andy Bache and Steve Atkinson both won one a piece to level the overall scoreline, since Jody and Alan Caffrey managed to win the doubles in a close 4 set battle. Curdsworth Pingers had a massive win over Tamworth Wanderers with a resulting 10 - 0 score. The Pingers team of Ken Reid, Rob Sheldon and Gary Nash played consistently well theoughout theevening. Another close match was Lichfield Kings and Queens against Kingsbury Tornadoes. Di St Ledger took the top prize with 3 wins for Lichfield but 2 wins for Ronnie Woollaston along with 2 from Karl Oliver and a single from Dave Morrell plus the doul;es, meant the Tornadoes triumphed 6 - 4. The fourth match was a Netherseal double. Netherseales convincingly took the match although it was closer than the 10 - 0 scoreline suggests. More than half the games went through to 4 or 5 sets but Andy Rose,Danny Sullivan and Simon Hall were on top form on the night.
In division 2, Lichfield Jets beat Spital Daredevils 8 - 2. Stafford Brookes and Alan Baker got the 2 points for Spital but Gary Dawson got a maximum 3 points for The Jets and helped win the doubles with Mark Balant. Hopwas B played away at Licfield and took on The Knaves. It was agood win for The Knaves. with full game points to Neil Lehane and Dan Greathead. There was however a good win against Yuri Slobodyuk for Alex Farrell of Hopwas B. Netherseal Oak also had a great win over Tamworth Rugby Club Kings, Dean Snowdon got the one point for The Rugby Club but despite a couple of 5 set games Brian The final score was 9 - 1 to the Oaks.
Division 3 saw four matches played. Top of this division Rugby Oddballs had another consistent 8 - 2 win over Netherseal Ash. Man of the match to Dave Storr, who won his 3 games, helped along by 2 each for Kieth Pratt and Kevin Wright. Also with the same score was a win for Spital Mondays over Tamworth Youth Club Talentz. Hayden Wooton secured the 2 points for Talentz but John Brookes won all of his three for Spital. Yet another 8 - 2 result was that of Licfield Musketeers over T.Y.C Lambs. This time it was James Shaw who saved the day with 2 points for The Lambs and a maximum of 3 games won by Paul Edwards led the win for The Musketeers. The fourth match was a 7 - 3 triumph for Kingsbury Cruisers over Lichfield Rockets. There were some good games and ajj of the team players managed to win at least 1 game!
