Match 8 saw the beginning of the second round of matches in the Tamworth League as teams have now met all the others in their own division. In division 1 there were 4 matches played. Top of the table Wilnecote Raiders had a massive 10 - 0 win over Tamworth Wanderers, Steve Atkinson, Andy Bache and Ken Reid took all the points on the night. Another 10 - 0 success was the win Tamworth Wheelers Wiff Waffs had against Kingsbury Tornadoes, this time it was Alan Caffrey, Paul Hancox and Adrian Jones all managed the full house. A closer match in this division was the 6 -4 win that Curdworth Wheelers Pingers had over Netherseal Cedar. The Pingers clenched the win thanks to Dawn Sagoo taking all her 3 games to victory. The final match was that of Lichfield Kings and Queens versus Netherseales. The result was a draw that saw Andy Rose get 3 points for Netherseales but they only had 2 players on the night. Danny Sullivan added another point and he and Andy won the doubles too. Diane St Ledger and Varya Meredith won 1 game each to secure the draw along with their 3 forfeit points.
Division 2 saw a 10 - 0 for Lichfield Jets over Hopwas Jokers B. Even though it was another big loss for Hopwas, Dave Tucker says he is still trying hard and proved this by taking Gary Dawson to 4 sets and losing in the 5th to Jack Gillespie. Harry Emberson was the third Lichfield player who managed to win all his 3 games. Tamworth Rugby Club Kings had an 8 - 2 victory over Curdworth Wheelers Pongers. It was the Rugby Club players Johnathan Pilling and Dean Snowden who managed to achieve 3 games each. Another Lichfield team, the Knaves, had an 8 - 2 loss. They played Hopwas Jokers A at home and even though Neil Lehane and Morgan Sykes gained 1 game a piece, the Hopwas team of Martin Tallis (2), Alistair Tallis (3) and Vincent Vidal (2) won all the other games including the doubles.
The third division games were Spital Mondays, who beat Tamworth Youth Club lambs 8 - 2. for Spital John Brookes and Ian Sketchley both claimed a full house of 3 games but brothers James and Rob Shaw, both rescued a point back for The Lambs. A Lichfield. The Rockets lost narrowly to the league leaders, Tamworth Rugby Club Oddballs. The 4 - 6 scoreline was helped by Kevin Wright from The Oddballs winning all his 3 games. The other division 3 Lichfield team, The Musketeers, had success away at Netherseal. They beat Netherseal Ash 7 - 3 thanks to a maximum 3 games for Peter Collins and a further 2 wins each for Paul Edwards & Alan Thorne.
