Please see the below post from Dave Knight. On behalf of everyone concerned with Tamworth Table Tennis we too would like to offer our most
sincere condolences to Anand's family and Lichfield Table Tennis Club for their loss.
It is my sad duty as Chairmain of Lichfield Table Tennis Club to inform you of the loss of our club Secretary, Anand Kaila.
Anand was on holiday in India, and on Sunday (16th March) he was taken ill with a shortage of breathe. He was taken to hospital by car but passed out on the way.
Despite attempts to revive him, he passed away before proper medical treatment could be given, it is thought from a heart attack.
I am sure I speak for everyone when I say that Anand has for years been the hardest working member of the club, and we all owe him a huge debt of gratitude for the all he has done in respect of seeking grants for equipment, corresponding with the ETTA and obtaining our ClubMark status, organising Twinning visits, coaching, teams and tournaments etc etc etc. Nothing was ever too much work, and it was always done in a cheerful manner.
Not only will he be missed as a person, his work input on behalf of all members will also be difficult to replace, so please bear with us if the rest of the committee cannot keep up with things.
Anand is survived by his wife, Swaran, son Rajiv and daughter Indu, and I as well as every other club member, offer them our sincerest condolences. I am sure Rajiv will appreciate any messages of sympathy or goodwill to his own email, which is email@example.com
