Top Of Tamworth League Division 1, Wilnecote Raiders, had a closer match this week winning 6-4 against Curdworth Wheeler Pingers. Michael Bree scored a treble and Andy Bache a double for Wilnecote. In Reply Rob Rowson scored 2 with Tony Stewart and Dawn Sagoo supporting also with one each for Pingers. Closing up on thier heels are Tamworth Youth Club Wiff Waffs who had a 9-1 away victory over Lichfield Kings and Queens. Jody Bevington and Adrian Jones won 3 each with Jack Styring also wion two. Cyril Merriman claimed the point for Lichfield. Netherseal Cedar were victorious over over a Kingsbury Tornadoes side who were playing with two players. Netherseal picked up an 8-2 win with Aubry Henry winning both his games supported by Gary Carr and Ian perry both picking up a point a piece for Netherseal Cedar.
In Division 2, the current leaders Lichfield Jets secured a 0 - 1 win over Rugby Club Kimgs to maintain their place. Both Jack Gillespie and Gary Dawson won all their games and Mark Balant added two, they also won the doubles to ensure this brilliant scoreline! Two man team Spital Daredevils managed a 7 - 3 victory over Hopwas jokers B. Stuart Spalding and alan baker won their three games plusthe doubles.
Division 3, saw a full house of four matches played. Leaders Tamworth Rugby Club Oddballs had an amazing 10 - 0 win against Tamworth outh Club Lambs. Thw ever improving Oddballs, consisting of dave Storr, kavin Wright and Ron Simpson, all scored three out of three. Lichfield Musketeers had a closer match with Spital mondays and beat them 6 - 4. John bell, Peter Collins and Alan Thorne won two games apiece, while it was John Brookes who was the highest scorer for Spital, also winning two games. Another 6 - 4 score was created when Lichfield Rockets beat Tamworth Youth club Talentz. For The Rockets, Christopher Davis and Zoran Djurkovic won two and Rebecca davis won one, For Talentz it was David Bree who saved the match by winning all his three games in straight sets. Finally there was a 7 - 3 result for Netherseal Ash, who beat Kingsbury Cruisers. For Netherseal, Graham Clarke and George Parry scored three points each and for Kingsbury, Dominic Duerden, Andrew Brown and Adam Lowe all fought back to each win one game in return.
