YMCA I and Newnham finished level on points in Division 1 with YMCA 1 having the best sets average. Newnham won the Challenge Cup by beating YMCA I 5-4. The Newnham team of John Cornwell, John Thurston and Ron Nunn was very strong at that time and although a young team, they were very effective and proved their worth in years to come.
Sparta I became champion of Division 2 with YMCA III runners-up. In Division 3A RAF Oakington were successful with University Press as runners-up. In Division 3B Little Shelford YC were champions with Sparta III close behind.
The Handicap Final this year was won by Percy Newman who defeated R.Sterpinski of the Sparta club.
