Les Constable's report on the season 1985-1986
Once again Soham 1 were successful in winning the championship of Division 1
but this time they were chased by Netherhall 1 who finished 28 points behind.
University 1 finished in third position just in front of Wesley 1 who had
a very disappointing season with Martyn Livermore not fully fit although
Keith Richardson again was the spearhead of the attack. The University team
of Messrs Dilger, Grew and Whittom played consistently well and deserved
their high position in the league. Torchbearers 1 were easily bottom of the
3rd division with only eight points but this was mostly due to the untimely
death of their secretary Ralph Rust who died suddenly and left a big gap
in their ranks. Swavesey 2 were relegated to Division 2 and NCI 2 topped
Division 2.
Netherhall 2 beat St Ives 4 in the final of the Handicap Knockout Trophy.
