Denhale vs Barnsley
Denhale lined up with Chow, Graham and David against Barnsleys Ray, Brian and John Race. Chow started off brightly taking the first set off Ray but of course Ray came back to take the next 3. Graham overcame a stubborn defence from Brian to secure a 3-1 win and David went down in 3 to John. Graham, like us all found Ray a little too good and lost 3-0 however Chow eased past John. David put on a great display in almost getting his first win losing out to Brian in the 5th set 7-11. Chow and Graham fought their way to a fantastic 3-2 win in the doubles and after Grahams 3-1 win over John the match was all square. David lost out to Ray but Chow secured a highly creditable draw beating John in straight sets. 5-5
PWTT v Eastmoor B
PWTT put out Lee, John and Kevin against Paul, Carl and David Lloyd Thompson
Lee and Paul were first on and in a closely fought 5 set encounter Paul took the last set to get the visitors off to a good start. John in his first start of the season was in sparkling form and sent stunning winners to all corners of the room as he battered past Carl 3-0. Kevin and Dave shared 3 really tight sets but luck wasn’t on Daves side losing all three. John then repeated his earlier good form dishing out the same treatment to Paul. Lee and the luckless Dave had a 4 set encounter full of great shots and misses that went Lees way, 3-1. Kevin made 2 points secure with another hard fought victory over Carl. Leaving the doubles to last John lost his first set to Dave but then smashed his way through the next three. Kevin found Paul too tough a nut to crack, after a close first set he succumbed in the next two. In the last singles Lee recovered from a set down to account for Carl 3-1 and the doubles went to the expert duo of Kev and Lee. 8-2
Eastmoor A v Eastmoor C
John, Chris and Paul Kirby played Paul Coletta, Paul Haycock and Anthony at Eastmoor in this one. 3 Pauls in one match is too much!! John started the match off with a comfortable win over PaulC. Chris however pound PaulH too hot to handle going down 3-0. PaulK eased past Anthony and Chris repeated this treatment to PaulC. John beat Anthony 3-0 and PaulK then beat PaulC to make it 5-1. The doubles pairing of Chris and PaulK established the win and after PaulKs and Chris next 2 wins the maximum points were secured but PaulH played a great game against John to get his second win of the night making it 8-2 to the A team.
