Match Report

This match summed up the difference in approach by both sides. The hosts despite all their players having their worst season for some time had always fielded their best side and aided by two large wins in their last 3 fixtures were well in the hunt for runners-up. The visitors, who were promoted with a 100% record, 40 points clear of their nearest rivals, fought hard in most of their matches but a drop in form by Mike Terry and only fielding Scott Dixon in 4 games has cost them dear. In this vital relegation fixture they only fielded 2 players and with Paul Goodman always struggling against the hosts, a clean sweep seem inevitable, but Bob Hickson turned the clock back to gain a shock 14-12, 5-11, 14-12, 12-14, 11-5 win over Stan Galkowski which means they need a reversal of this score-line to avoid the drop.
