Swallows lead Box A following a 79 point victory over Shooting Stars. Rapidly improving Benjamin Forster was Swallows’ star player making a personal gain of 55 points. Team mates Jasper Pye and Joe Camp added 2 & 22 points respectively. Also in Box A Minehead A’s Chris Norman led them to a 35 point win over Drifters.
House Martyns have won their opening matches against Wiveliscombe and St Audries in Box B. Andrew Burt top scored with a 45 point gain over Wiveliscombe. Wivi’s Dave Woodland finished 2 points to the good despite conceding huge handicap margins. Both Andrew Burt (14) & Ellie Baker (13) made gains over St. Audries to help the House Martyns to a narrow 23 point victory.
Hobby Horse came out on top of the only Box C match to be played to date. Captain Mike Lawrie starred with a personal surplus of 26 points. Barn Boys Captain Graham Lamacraft ensured a close result with a gain of 10 points, keeping Hobby Horses win to just 10 points.
Box D remains wide open as Mad Batters followed up a 9 point defeat at Gnomads A with a 74 point victory over White Horse. Brothers Jamie, Mathew & Marcus Short combined in a great team effort to make gains of 21,27 and 26 points respectively.
