Nigel Fosters’ 2 maximums helped Gnomads A to a 61 point haul from their first 2 matches.  Vince Court also recorded 2 maximums for Basement Dwellers as they won their opening fixtures.  Swallows proved to be tough opponents for Dwellers as a great team performance saw Joe Camp, Benjamin Forster & Jasper Pye take 5, 5 and 4 points respectively.

Wiveliscombe scored maximum points at Mad Batters to get their title defence off to a perfect start.  Hamish Cuthbertson managed Mad Batters’ only point from the singles.

Stogumber A also recorded a maximum 36 points from their away match at Minehead A.

In Division 2 White Horse got off to a flying start thanks largely to 2 Ian Rew maximums.  Jamie Robertson supported well with 8 singles points in the win at St. Audries and Colin White notched 7 points in a 31-17 home victory over Barn Boys.

An Andrew Burt maximum wasn’t quite enough to save House Martyns from defeat at the hands of Barn Boys for whom Darby Ash top scored with 7 singles points.

Both Tony Burrows and Sifa Vea took maximum points from their singles as Tony’s Troopers ran out 29-16 winners at Hobby Horse.

Mike Pretty put in a man of the match performance to help Drifters to a 33-12 victory against House Martyns.  Joseph Burt was the juniors stand out player and was only denied his maximum by a 10-12 fifth set defeat to Pretty.
