Gnomads put up a great fight in their away fixture at Wiveliscombe but eventually went down by 34 points to 10.  There were maximums for Wivi’s John Edbrooke and Dave Woodland.  Martin Rant won Gnomads’ only singles with a fine five set win over Paul Nutkins.  Rant then partnered David Gliddon to score a brilliant 5 set victory over Woodland and Nutkins in the doubles.

In Division Two Hobby Horse scored maximum points at Swifts with personal maximums for Mike Lawrie, Corinne Rees and Di Preece.  Connor Graddon put in a fine performance for the Juniors taking 3 points from his singles.  Luke Westcott also managed 2 singles points to help Swifts reach a total of 6.

Handicap Cup

In Box B of the handicap Cup Jim Stiles starred for St. Audries as they won by 341 points to 317 at Roys Boys.  He finished with a surplus of 32 to assure St. Audries of victory.

Basement Dwellers put themselves into a strong position in Box D with a 343-273 home victory over White Horse.  Vince Court led the way with a gain of 48 and was well supported by Mike Vickery +17 and Toby Kerslake +5.

The Associations’ Annual Junior Tournaments attracted a record entry.  Six players contested the Under 18 section and 22 took part in the Under 13’s competition.

In the Under 18’s Joe Camp defeated Ryan Graddon in the first semi-final.  Benjamin Forster overcame the challenge of Jasper Pye in the second semi and will now meet Joe Camp on Finals Night.

Ellie Baker won a close encounter in the Under 13’s semi-finals against Louis Griffiths and Joseph Burt rounded off a great performance with victory over Rupert Forster in the other semi.
