Semi Final Draw

House Martyns v Stogumber A

Basement Dwellers v Shooting Stars

Jack Lancaster, Ellie Baker and Curtis Beynon-Pearce made points gains of 49,32 and 21 as House Martyns cruised into the Handicap Cup semi-finals with a comfortable win over Minehead A.

In contrast Shooting Stars edged a thrilling match against Wiveliscombe by just 5 points.  Man of the Match Mark Scyner made a gain of 53 for the Stars.  A surplus of 35 for Paul Nutkins was not enough to save Wivi from defeat.

Stogumber A defeated Roys Boys by 42 points thanks largely to a personal gain of 40 points for Marcus Short.  David Bryant added a further 12 points and Barbara Parker restricted her deficit to just 10 to see Stogumber into the semi-finals.

Despite a fine performance by Captain Mike Lawrie who made a gain of 12 points Hobby Horse went down by 37 points in their home tie against Basement Dwellers.  An all-round team performance saw Mike Vickery, Paul Rees and Vince Court achieve gains of 14,19 and 4 respectively.

WSTTA Junior Tournaments took place on Saturday 18th March.  14 competitors represented a healthy Junior section and played some quality table tennis.

In the Under 13 age group Joseph Burt will play Alfie Southam in one semi-final.  Jack Lancaster will play Curtis Beynon-Pearce in the other.  These matches, the resulting final and the final of the 13 and over age group between Jasper Pye and Ellie Baker will be played at Finals Night on Tuesday 18th April.
