Division 1– It was a local derby when House Martyns played at home against Minehead A. Ever improving Joe Burt led the challenge with a fine 7 points for the home team. Dead bat specialist, Scott Milton, had modest success against the attacking and hard-hitting visitors, and managed to score 5 points. Jack Lancaster topped up the singles points with a further 2. With 5 doubles points the final tally for House Martyns rose to 18 points. Minehead A were on the attack from the start. Thick bat specialist, Toby Kerslake, scored the only maximum of the evening to be named player of the match. Joe Camp narrowly missed his maximum by one point after a five-set thriller against Joe Burt. Terry Cadman also showed good form and added 6 points. With 8 doubles points Minehead ended with a winning score of 31 points.

Mad Batters hosted Basement Dwellers in an all Alcombe affair. Marcus Short was the stand-out player for the home team when he scored 5, with Jasper Pye adding the remaining 2 singles points. With a solitary doubles point the score for Mad Batters moved on to 8 points. Division 1 hopefuls, Basement Dwellers, were aiming to capture a maximum team score to boost their bid for the championship.  Player of the match went to Vince Court as he and substitute, Joe Camp, both scored maximums. For crossword puzzle specialist, Paul Rees, it was 3 Down as he added 6 points to the team score. With a maximum in the doubles, Basement Dwellers ended as victors with 33 points.

Seven times division 1 and current champions, Wiveliscombe, took on White Horse as they sought to tighten their grip on the division 1 title. Player of the match was John Edbrooke who continued to both amaze and confuse with his pimples. He and David Woodland both scored maximums and 13- year-old Ben Cooper narrowly missed his when he scored an excellent 7 points. Maximum doubles points gave Wiveliscombe the victory with 34 points. White Horse were again faced with this David and Goliath battle and this time David [Bryant] scored 5 singles points. Only 1 more singles point was added by Colin White, plus a further 3 doubles points to leave White Horse as runners-up with 9 points.

Division 2– Another Minehead derby saw Hawks challenge Allsorts. Captain Mark Scyner led the way with 7 points, and a valuable singles point was added by Alfie Southam. An excellent 3 doubles points were scored against the strongest doubles team in division 2 to give Hawks a score of 11 points. For Allsorts a celebration was in order for player of the match, Mike Lawrie as he scored the only maximum of the evening. Well done Mike!! Sifa Vea just missed his maximum by a single point during a hard-fought 5 set game to score 8 points. Roy Pointer scored a valuable 6 singles points. Allsorts had Barbara Parker as their doubles specialist and the 7 points scored confirmed the team’s expertise in the doubles. Final score for Allsorts: 30 points.

Barn Boys hosted Drifters, where the home team never managed to control the game. Graham Lamacraft and Steve Palmer scored 6 singles points apiece, and 3 more doubles points were later added. This gave Barn Boys a final tally of 15 points. Drifters played consistently well throughout the evening. Liz Fletcher was player of the match with 8 points and well supported by David Smith and Andrew Miles with 7 points each. An additional 7 points from the doubles gave Drifters their winning score of 29 points and the current top-spot in division 2.
