• There are currently 9 table tennis clubs that enter competitive teams in the Wirral League during the winter season. Full details can be found under Contacts. Of these only the NFGR club holds weekly sessions open to all.
  • There is one table tennis club for youngsters primarily those aged under 17. The club, which takes players of all standards, does not play in the Wirral League but instead enter teams in the National League.
  • Friends in Retirement offer recreational table tennis for current and ex league players aged over 50. 
  • West Kirby Concourse Leisure Centre, Wirral Tennis and Leisure Centre and The Oval Leisure Centre offer limited unsupervised table tennis. This needs to be booked in advance.

Table Tennis For All Ages:

NFGR Table Tennis Club, New Ferry Village Hall, Stanley Road, New Ferry, CH62 5AR. 

Sessions are held twice a week for players of all abilities who enjoy the game just for fun, or want to play in a more competitive environment.

We are in the process of organising structured coaching sessions aimed primarily at young people but our Qualified Coaches, Experienced Players and our TT robot (feeding balls at any pace, angle and spin combination) are always available to help all players to enjoy the game and improve their skills.                                       

For those new to the sport, bats and balls are available for the duration of the session.

Up to 4 tables reserved for Wirral Table Tennis League Matches during winter season.

Table Tennis For Juniors (and adults):

Wirral Premier Table Tennis Club, New Ferry Village Hall, Stanley Road, New Ferry, CH62 5AR.

The aim of the club aim is to promote table tennis locally and to encourage youngsters to try a sport that is not generally seen as the norm for them. We offer structured fun training sessions, plus a robot, on Wednesdays from 6.30pm - 8pm, and to 9pm once the players are at a competent level.

Sessions are run by a qualified level 2 coach with all the relevant child safeguarding qualifications and dbs checks and assisted by a level 1 coach and various volunteers. We enter teams in the national cadet/junior leagues and are very successful. We are registered with England Table Tennis as a premier club. 

We do have some adults that come to train with us and all are very welcome.

There is no need to ring. Just turn up to one of the sessions.

Table Tennis For the Over 50’s:

Friends in Retirement, The Concourse, Grange Rd, West Kirby, CH48 4HZ

Current and ex league players aged over 50 years old are invited to keep active and make new friends through table tennis sessions at West Kirby Concourse. Dust off your bat and come along or borrow one of ours to get re-started. Play is almost exclusively doubles with everyone continually swapping playing partners during the session. Everyone is very enthusiastic and visitors made very welcome. Unfortunately these sessions are not suitable for beginners.

Table tennis is one of many over-50s activities in the Friends in Retirement network based at the Concourse.”

Sports Centres:

West Kirby Concourse is the only sports centre on the Wirral at present which has any organised table tennis sessions. This is for those aged over 55's as above.

Tables are also available for hire at The Oval Leisure Centre, Old Chester Road, Bebington and at The Wirral Tennis and Leisure Centre, Valley Road, Birkenhead.
