League Format

Now made up of two Divisions: The Premier with 9 teams and Division 1 made up of 10 teams. Each of the teams in their divisions will play each other home and away once

Handicap Sleight Doubles Format
There are two groups and each team will play each other in their group once. 

The fixtures will be announced in the first half of the season

Each team must play with three players. The scorecards showing the handicaps will be sent to the home team secretary in time for each fixture.

The semi-finals will be made up of the team with the most points in one group playing the team finishing second in the other group (a draw will determine home advantage). In the event of a tie on points, the victorious team in the fixture between the two teams in the group game will be deemed to take the higher position.

Challenge Cup
This will remain a knock-out competition within each of the two divisions. Fixtures will be within the ordinary league fixture dates.

Parker Shield Handicap Cup
This will remain a knock-out competition within each of the two divisions. Fixtures will be within the ordinary league fixture dates.

Any preliminary round matches are to be arranged between team secretaries and played by the end of November. The draw for the first round will be made soon after the preliminary rounds have been completed. The remaining rounds will be played within the normal league fixtures. The semi-finals are scheduled for T.B.A.

COMPETITION RULES

The Parker Shield:

1) To be played between all teams entering on a knock-out basis.

2) Each player has to have played three games to be eligible with the exception of the first round.

3) Individual players to be handicapped not teams.  Players to be handicapped in every round.

4) One end up to 42 points with no deuce finish – change ends at 21.

5) Handicap added to score sheet at the start of match.  Team with the highest number of points wins the match.

6) Service changes every 2 points.

7) Home team to offer away team three dates within four days of receiving the draw (unless fixture is part of printed fixture programme in player’s handbook).

8) Teams failing to play matches by the specified date are liable to a fine of up to £2.00.

9) The Committee’s decision is final.

The Sleight Doubles:

1) Pairs to be handicapped each game. (Only 3 nominated pairs )

2) Nine games of doubles over the best of 5 ends up to 11.

3) Each end commences using handicap difference given for each pairing; i.e. team A handicap for Bill & Ben 6, team B handicap for Eric & Ernie 2, each end commences 4-0, except where a pairing have been given a negative handicap in which case each end will start on the given handicaps; i.e. -1 +4.

4) Normal T.T.E. doubles rules (where applicable) apply throughout.

5) All nine games to be played in Group Stages.

6) Parker Shield rules 2, and 6 to 9 apply.

The Challenge Cup:

1) To be played between all teams entering on a knock-out basis.

2) Order of play – 1&3 v A&C, 2&3 v B&C 1 v A,  3 v B, 2 v C, 1 v B, 2 v A, 3 v C, 1&2 v A&B.  Best of 5 ends up to 11.

3) Teams must play in ranking order (as per current season’s averages).

4) The losing team may give the opposition the remaining games once a winning position of five games has been reached, subject to the mutual agreement by both teams.

5) Parker Shield rules 2, and 6 to 9 apply.
