For those of you who were unable to attend our AGM in May your Committee is:
Andy Fox (Chairman and Treasurer), Matthew Brown (Secretary and Tournament Organiser), Anne Lockhart, Martin Goddard and Mike Meah (Committee Members).
We also appointed a Coaching Officer (Lee McHugh) and Website Manager (Ryan Pitt) at the AGM. These are non-committee posts.
We do have a number of vacancies to fill. These are: Match Secretary (Committee member) (to assist the secretary with completion of league entry forms, league player registration forms, checking scheduled league and cup matches for errors, etc), Press Officer (non-Committee member) (to assist the secretary with Newsletters etc and write a quarterly or monthly teams update for the website etc) and Welfare Officer (non-Committee member) (see https://tabletennisengland.co.uk/our-sport/safeguarding/welfare-officer-role/ for more information).
Membership fees are now due:
- Table Tennis Club membership - £5.00 (cheque payable to Writtle Table Tennis Club)
- Writtle Sports & Social Club (WS&SC) membership (all Table Tennis members are required to be members of WS&SC) - As per attached form (£18 juniors & seniors, £30 adult and £36 family) (cheque payable to Writtle Sports & Social Club please).
- Brentwood League Players - £6.00 (Cheque payable to Brentwood & District Table Tennis League please)
- Chelmsford League Players - £7.00 (cheque payable to Chelmsford & District Table Tennis League please)
Please return the completed WS&SC form with your subscriptions to Matthew Brown.
All league players must remember to renew their Table Tennis England (TTE) membership (£16.00 (player member) or £38.00 (player licence)) before playing in the local leagues (go to: https://tabletennisengland.co.uk/membership/register-or-renew/ to renew your membership).
Social players do not have to belong to TTE but have the option to register with TTE for free associate membership (go to: https://tabletennisengland.co.uk/membership/register-or-renew/associate-membership/ for more information).
Club night continues every Thursday from 8pm.
We welcome two new teams to the Club (playing in the Chelmsford League on Tuesday nights) for the new season. Fixtures for the winter season are now available. Matches start week commencing 17th September in both Brentwood and Chelmsford Leagues. The hall is available for practice on Tuesday nights from 8pm from now until 11th September. A team list will be circulated shortly. Instructions for collecting keys, unlocking and locking the premises, and returning keys will be issued to team captains shortly (and training will be available for those unfamiliar with the procedure).
This year’s tournament was held in May (with a hard-bat tournament at the end of July). Congratulations to Lee McHugh (Open Singles), Mike Meah (Closed Singles), Ryan Pitt (Handicap Singles), Anne Lockhart & Janet Wright (Ladies Doubles), Ian Hockley & David Meah (Open Doubles) and Jessica Auker & Paul Sturton (Handicap Doubles).

WS&SC – Bar
