There was not much drama in evidence as the competition proceeded but a significant change at the top as TT Allstarz moved clear of their rivals, albeit by only a point.

The Allstarz trio of Arthur Bracken, Paul Hyland and James Gorridge had a fairly perfunctory 9-0 win over Bats Atoxic with Toxic’s Keith Lindsay causing the only inconvenience by taking Hyland the distance. Ed Lawrie nearly repeated the feat before losing 9-11, 9-11 to Hyland.

Rose & Two Thorns’ 6-3 win over Winter Mixtures left the two teams level on points and goal difference in joint second place. Rose Rainton and Tony Catt were unbeaten for Rose/Thorns, both without dropping a game while Kim Shearer suffered an unlucky bagel, losing to Graham Primett, Pam Winter and Trevor Towner all at either 8-11 or 9-11 in the third.

Ivory Rose beat Going Down 6-3 with a maximum from Graham Gillett and two from Pete Robinson. Ivory Rose eased into a 6-1 lead, all in straight games with the only setback being a win for Andy Chapman over Alan McCleave.  Going Down saved their best till last to take a bonus point, with John Ellis beating Robinson in three and Brian Busbridge sneaking home against McCleave in another three-game set.

Ball Bashers (Paul Barry, Ryan Heselden and Kevin McEwan) eased above Ivory Rose into fourth place on goal difference helped by their 9-0 defeat of Slovakquickdust. This was all in straight games apart from McEwan’s win over John Bradbury.
