The club team competition will enter the last two rounds of play with two points covering the top five teams after some interesting clashes.  TT Allstars were unceremoniously eased out of the top spot after a 9-0 hammering by Ball Bashers.  TT Allstars had previously played the entire competition using only four players, with Arthur Bracken replacing Roy Funnel at No. 1 after the last lockdown. With Bracken absent, playing golf (the ultimate insult for a table tennis competition!) Allstars called on a more than adequate replacement in floating reserve John Wilson but had no answer to the unbeaten Paul Barry, Ryan Heselden and Kevin McEwan. Wilson came closest for the losers, going the distance with Barry and Heselden. McEwan was most impressive for the Bashers in not losing a game.

New leaders are Rose & Two Thorns who beat Slovakquickdust 7-2 with Tony Catt unbeaten and Rose Rainton and Sheila King winning two each. Slovaks won the first and last sets with Roger Pingram starting with a good win over Rainton and George Reidy beating King in three games after King had recorded two excellent wins.

Ivory Rose are fifth and still have a shot at the title. They did their goal difference no harm with a 9-0 defeat of Bats Atoxic who are now doomed to finish bottom of the table. Graham Gillett, Pete Robinson and Alan McCleave won their contests in straight games with the exception coming when Peter Saunders took Robinson to a decider.

Winter Mixtures are equal second with TT Allstars and a point behind Ball Bashers after a 6-3 win over Going Down with a maximum from Nathan Darby and two from Andy Panayi while Sue Pingram won twice for Going Down.  With the match poised at 3-3, Darby beat Pingram in three, after cruising the first, before Panayi scraped past John Ellis 11-9 in the third to clinch the points before Pam Winter had a comfortable win over Brian Busbridge.

Mixtures will do well to challenge for the title as all three regulars are unavailable next week.
