Flixton Cricket Club A remain top of the table in the Premier Division of the Bolton & District Table Tennis League with a no surprise 27 – 5 win over bottom of the table Hilton B. Ramsbottom Town A remain second with a game in hand. They had a 27 – 7 win over their own B team whose player Ryan Choong had to pull out at the last minute having been treated for a head injury at A & E following an accident at school. Third-placed Little Lever Cricket Club A lost out to fourth-placed Flixton Cricket Club B. Flixton stormed ahead 19 – 13 helped by nine points from Jacob Reilly Cooper. Mid-table Hilton A had a 19 – 14 win over a two-man Nomads team despite a resisting nine from Charles Musa. At the bottom of the table, Warton and Ladybridge A had a 16 – 16 draw with Warton’s Barry Elliott on nine.
Division One’s front-runners Burning Desire march on with a 26 – 6 win over eighth-placed Hilton C with nines from Brett Haslam and Ben Armstrong. Second-placed Wigan TTC also had a good 26 – 8 win against Coburg in fifth place with nines from Daniel Watkinson and Tony Whitney. Third-placed Ramsbottom Town D scraped a 16 – 15 win over fourth-placed Polonia Club A, despite a resisting nine from Lukasz Serdiuk. Mid-table Meadow Ben A had their match conceded by Farnworth Social Circle A who’s John Hutchinson was taken into hospital and they also had a parental death of another player to cope with. Mid-table Wingates had a good 24 – 17 win over Little Lever Cricket Club B one place above them, assisted by nine from Steve Hathaway. A clash of the bottom two teams had second from the bottom Hilton D just beating bottom team Heaton Cricket Club A 18 – 15 helped by nine from Stuart Wallis.
In Division Two, top of the table Hilton E beat seventh-placed Ladybridge B 24 – 17 with nines from Adele Spibey and Matthew Kennedy. Second-placed Saint Paul’s Peel had a fitting 19 - 19 draw against third-placed Polonia Club B with Lee Devenport on his expected nine for Saint Paul’s.
