Division 1
Division 1 champions Lions B are showing no signs of letting up after they recorded a 7-3 win over Whistlers C in the penultimate match of the season. The recent Inter-Insular Green Trophy selected players Olly Langlois and Joshua Butler showed good signs of form in the encounter where each went through unbeaten. Langlois dropped a single end to the Green reserve Joshua Stacey before coming through against Lawrence Stacey and James Rabey in straight games. Butler overcame Joshua 3-0, Rabey in 4 and then recovered from a mid game lapse to take out Lawrence in a deciding 5th leg. The duo also exacted revenge for their Island Men's doubles semi final loss to the twins on this occasion courtesy of a straight game win. Young Ryan Bichard was competitive in all of his singles matches, but lost each over 4 games.
Whistlers A are in pole position to clinch the runners-up spot with 1 match remaining and their tight 6-4 win over a Whistlers B side missing Alice Loveridge keeps them with a 2 point advantage over Lions A in 3rd. Garry Dodd never looked in trouble during his singles wins over Dawn Morgan, Chloe Le Tissier and reserve Joseph Bourgaize and he also combined with Mark Pipet to see off Morgan and Le Tissier 3-0 in the doubles match. It was Pipet that earned the other important rubbers when he beat Le Tissier in 4 and Bourgaize in straight games. Morgan, Le Tissier and Bourgaize all beat GTTA President Derek Webb and Morgan was also on hand to record a 4 game win over Pipet.
Lions A were comfortable 8-2 winners over a weakened Lions C side missing Liam Robilliard this week. Phil Ogier continued upon his recent run of form with convincing straight game wins over Paul Hainsworth, Andre De Carteret and reserve Luke Bichard. Ben Foss added wins over Bichard and De Carteret before combining with Ogier to see off Hainsworth and De Carteret in the doubles clash over 4 ends. The A side's reserve Martin Sarre put in a good shift by beating Bichard in straight games and De Carteret in 4. Hainsworth restored some pride for his side due to his 4 game win over Foss and straight game win over Sarre.
Division 2
Lions F are 2 points clear at the top and cruised to an impressive 9-1 win over Whistlers D this week. Junior Luke Bichard was firing on all cylinders on the night and a straight game win over Kay Chivers was followed up with a straight game win over Keith Opie and a 4 set triumph over Stuart Sarre. Jamie Ferbrache was also in good nick and he too won all 3 of his singles matches, dropping just the single end to Chivers in the final game of the night. The previously mentioned Lions players paired well to defeat the experienced doubles combination of Chivers and Opie in straight games. Dan Collenette is another junior to be making good progress this season and despite losing to Chivers in 4, he picked up handy wins over Sarre and Opie in 4 and 5 games respectively.
Division 3
Whistlers F have clinched the 3rd Division title with 2 games to spare after their convincing 8-2 win over Ravenscroft Panthers B. Paula Le Ber and Joseph Bourgaize each won all of their singles matches over Peter Vivian, Shaun Mosley and Steve Martin before teaming to win the doubles match over Vivian and Mosley without loss. Reserve Corey Brouard picked up a good 4 game win over Martin, however he was beaten by Vivian and Mosley, each over 4 games.
Division 4
The most dominant champions across all Divisions, Lions I, continue to crush their opposition and a 9-1 defeat was inflicted on Ravenscroft Panthers C this week. Andy and Sue Ferbrache each won both of their singles matches over Nick Windsor and reserve Tia Timms. Reserve Di Le Page beat Timms in straight games and also teamed with Sue to beat Windsor and Timms 3-1 in the doubles. The Lions side gained the remaining 3 matches via walkover.
Division 5
Whistlers O are on the brink of securing the Division 5 title after their comfortable 9-1 win over Whistlers M this week. Ellis Tomlin and Shane Cotter have each shown great form throughout the season and each beat Josh Lewis, Darren Sarre and Nathan Pinchemain in singles action. They also won the doubles over Sarre and Pinchemain in straight games. Junior James Crocker has also shown good signs of improvement over the year and this was evidenced in this match where he defeated Pinchemain in 5 and Lewis in straight games. He was also unlucky to lose out in 5 against Sarre, having led 2-1.
