The result leaves the Lions A side with a single point advantage at the top, however this could have resulted in a better outcome for them as they were in a good position whilst leading 4-2 in the clash before a strong finish for the Whistlers side.

Lawrence Stacey was the leading player for the Whistlers A side due to his unbeaten evening of singles action which included 4 set wins over Ben Foss and Jamie Ferbrache and also a 5 set win over Ryan Bichard, in which he had trailed 2-1 before edging through the decider 13-11. Matt Casey also had a good night which included a straight sets win over Ferbrache and a crucial 5 set win over Bichard in a game which he also trailed 2-1 in. All of the Lions players earned singles wins over Ryan Gilson, whilst Foss also overcame Casey in straight sets. It was the Lions pairing of Foss and Bichard which came through the important doubles match over Stacey and Case in 5 sets.

Lions B closed the gap to just 2 points to the second placed Whistlers side after their battling 6-4 win over 4^th placed side Whistlers B. Phil Ogier and Dawn Morgan each defeated Ben Sharp and Ellis Tomlin in singles action before combining well to overcome Josh Stacey and Sharp in 4 sets in the doubles. Andre De Carteret picked up the decisive 6^th rubber for the victors after his comfortable straight sets win over Tomlin. Stacey had a strong evening which included straight sets wins over Ogier and De Carteret and a 4 set win over Morgan, whilst Sharp picked up a 4 set win over De Carteret.

5^th placed side Lions C picked up a point for the second consecutive week during a 5-5 stalemate with Lions D, who picked up their first point of the season. Paul Hainsworth continued his strong start to the season with another unbeaten week of action for his C side. He defeated Liam Robilliard in straight sets and Steve Ozanne and Charlotte Casey in 4 sets. He combined with Sam Clark in the doubles match to defeat Robilliard and Casey in 5 sets, coming back from 2-0 to in the process. Clark continues to pick up wins and he started with a 4 set win over Casey. He was unlucky to not add a further when whilst leading Ozanne 2-0, however the D side’s player battled back excellently to win in 5 sets. Each of the D side earned wins over the C side reserve Jonah Ingrouille, whilst Robilliard added a further win over Clark in straight sets.

Division 2

Ravenscroft Panthers D were held to a 5-5 draw in their top of the table clash with Whistlers F this week. Stuart Sarre was in top form for his Whistlers side and retained his 100% singles record in the process. He defeated Mark Windsor, Shaun Mosley and Steve Martin all in matching 4 set wins. Matthew Board picked up an important straight sets win over Windsor, whilst Sarre and Board came through a decisive doubles match over Martin and Windsor in 5 sets, having earlier trailed 2-1. All of the Panthers side defeated Darren Sarre in singles action, whilst Martin and Mosley also added wins over Board.

Division 4

Lions J retained their 2 point lead at the top after their comfortable 8-2 win over Lions M. Graham Mallett earned wins over Cameron Powell, Jan Priest and Jenny Powell. Derek Cave defeated Jenny and Cameron, whilst Lionel Jones defeated Cameron and Priest. The doubles was won by Mallett and Cave over Priest and Cameron in straight sets.
