Earlier, Jack Adams had secured the man of the match award with wins against Ivan Benchak and the Olivers Wood and East. Ivan and Oliver East countered for the home side, defeating Steve Hayes and Bob Mahon, Bob replying with a solo against a luckless Oliver Wood 11-5 in the fifth.
