 The top 3 teams in the 1^st Division are starting to open a gap ahead of the rest. Batmen cling on to the top spot with an 8-2 victory over the Battlers, Iain Dummett & Dennis Gibbs yet to be beaten for the Batmen. Brixham Sharks closed the gap to 1 point with an emphatic 10-0 over Brixham Trawlers. And only one point behind them are Torbay Academy I who returned from Halwell with all 10 points. Halwell bounced back to winning ways, going to Brixham to defeat their Trawlers side 7-3 thanks to a maximum from Dave Wadling.

The 2^nd Division, similarly, in these early stages, looks like a 3-horse race.  Taverners hold the lead having played an extra game; they were pushed all the way by a fighting Tykes side who eventually went down 6-4, Colin Harrop remains unbeaten for Taverners, only just though, as Chris Garner pushed him to deuce in the 5^th. The teams in 2^nd & 3^rd place battled out a draw, Bishops Academicals were 4-2 down to Torbay Academies 2^nd team, then went 5-4 up only to be denied victory in the last doubles. Sam Perkins had a bad night, unbeaten going into the match lost all 3 sets, and Simon Furgol also unbeaten prior to the match, relinquished his unblemished record losing to Doug Morgan.  Marldon are not out of the race at the top as they had a convincing 9-1 win over Torre 21 Up, The Torre side are now propping up the table along with Dawlish Diamonds who suffered a 10-0 hammering by Tykes. Brixham Pirates snatched a draw against stablemates Swallows thanks to 18-16 fifth set win in the final doubles from Holly Johns & Brian Pengelly, Alan Carthy & Andy Millman were the unlucky losers.

Its very close at the top of the 3^rd Division with Torbay Academy III & Brixham Rebels level on points but both having played an extra game over Marldon Badgers & Hasbeens who are hot on their heals.  The Rebels had a convincing 9-1 win over Dawlish Dynamos, Richard Johns remaining unbeaten and a maximum also for Marilyn Parton.  Dawlish took revenge over Brixham with their Drifters side defeating Brixham Swifts 8-2, Don McConnell & Ivor Copley gaining maximums for the Drifters side.
