Torbay Academy 1 extend their lead at the top of the First Division following a convincing 10-0 whitewash of Halwell, and they now lead second-placed NA Buzzards by 11 points. Brixham Sharks, with Rory Harries to the fore, defeated a depleted Buzzards team 6-4. Match of the week was a great encounter between NA Batmen and Torbay Academy 2; the Batmen ran out 7-3 winners thanks to a fine Shaun Gibbs maximum, but they had to fight all the way for every point. Herbie Sage was outstanding for the Academy side, just losing out in five to Shaun Gibbs in the final singles. Brixham Gulls’ Chris Dunn and Mick Mercer were unbeaten as they defeated their stablemates Pirates 9-1, Ben Deakin’s victory over Mark Smith gaining the Pirates’ solitary point.

Leaders of the Second Division, Brixham Seals, failed to win for the first time, despite a fine maximum from Bob Parkins. NA Eagles led the Seals 5-3 but with Parkins involved in the last two sets the Seals fought back for a share of the points. Taverners picked up their first win of the season, with Martin Dilkes going well as they saw off Torbay Academy 4, 8-2. Brixham Trawlers are climbing up the table with successive whitewash victories, the latest win for Alan Maynard, Ian Saxby and Nick Williamson over NA Hawks. However, it wasn’t as easy as the score suggests, with five sets going close in the 5th. Jakub Piwowar’s maximum for Torbay Academy 3 helped his side to a narrow 6-4 victory over the much improved Marldon.
Denbury Tykes are stretching their lead at the top of the Third Division, Paul Hine and Huw Darch again with maximums as they defeated Dawlish Diamonds 9-1. A fine all-round team performance from Marldon Tykes, 12 points behind their Denbury colleagues, beat Torbay Academy 5 7-3. NA Kestrels looked good, and climb up the table following their 8-2 victory over Torre Tigers, with Derek Stratton and Peter Tarjan taking maximums for the Kestrels.

Level on points at the top of the Fourth Division, NA Owls and Torbay Academy 7 both had 7-3 wins this week. A man of the match performance from Rowan Bayliss helped the Owls to their win over club mates Vultures, while maximums for John Fowler and Jamie McGuire secured the win for Academy 7 over Torres R Us. NA Kites climb the table following a whitewash victory over Brixham Swifts. Lewis Short, Simon Baxter and Richard Salt were on form for the Kites. NA Ospreys came across a strong Torbay Academy 6 side, as another Matt Frettsome man of the match performance led the Academy side to an 8-2 victory.
