Top match this week was the Division One clash between Brixham Sharks and Torbay Academy 1. The Sharks led 4-1 but the Academy’s inspirational skipper, Kris Piwowar, with another maximum, supported well by Patrik Cincala and Lenard Hernandez won the final 5 games to take the match 6-4. The NA Batmen currently lead the table following a 7-3 victory over club mates the Condors, Dennis Gibbs unbeaten for the Batmen. Halwell found themselves up against it when they entertained NA Buzzards, failing to win a set, as Sonja Ryland, Kevin Nicholls and Herbie Sage stormed to a whitewash victory.

Torbay Academy 2’s Warren Ngai was again unbeaten as two contenders for the Second Division title battled out a 5-5 draw, Brixham Pirates letting a 5-3 lead slip over the leaders Academy 2. NA Eagles, also in with a shout, picked up 2 wins, firstly whitewashing Denbury Tykes and then beating Taverners 6-4. Taverners, also with two matches in the week, had previously defeated Marldon 7-3 thanks to a Colin Harrop maximum. NA Falcons got back to winning ways with a 9-1 victory over Brixham Trawlers, Jeremy Broad leading the way, with Chris Baron also in fine form.

Third Division leaders NA Hawks stay out in front thanks to a 7-3 win over Brixham Dolphins, Ben Swettenham with a maximum for the Hawks. Hot on their heals, are both Marldon Tykes, whose Chris Garner inspired a 6-4 win over NA Kestrels, and Torbay Academy 3 who defeated their own 4th team 7-3 thanks to a Matt Cooper maximum. Bruce Freeman picked up all Dawlish Diamonds points as they went down 7-3 to Torbay Academy 5
Christopher Harper remains unbeaten as his Torre Titans team lead the Fourth Division, their latest victory a 6-4 win over NA Owls. Man of the match, Mike Coxhead, helped the Hasbeens keep the pressure on at the top with an 8-2 win over Torre Panthers. NA Kites, with Josh Redfern and Richard Salt unbeaten, picked up their first win of the season, as they defeated Torbay Academy 6, 9-1.

The solitary result in from the Fifth Division was a close encounter between two Newton Abbot sides, Andy Guy’s Vultures just sneaking a 6-4 win over the Merlins, thanks to the skipper’s maximum.
