PRESS REPORT – Sunday 10th Nov
The top of the table clash in the first Division saw current leaders Torbay Academy 1 suffer a rare defeat going down 6-4 to a Shaun Gibbs inspired NA Batmen. This result let in NA Buzzards for a visit to the top of the table as they defeated club mates the Condors 7-3 despite a fine maximum from the Condor’s Mark Burridge. In a good week for the Newton Abbot teams in the top flight, the NA Eagles defeated Halwell 9-1. Gergely Kiss making his debut for the Eagles collected a maximum as did Lauren Loosemore. Gordon Holmes was undefeated in an all Brixham encounter as his Sharks team defeated the Gulls 6-4

NA Falcons stretched their lead at the top of the second division with a convincing 9-1 win over struggling club colleagues the Kestrels, Mike Dummett and Chris Baron were undefeated for the Falcons. Brixham Trawlers move up into second spot with an excellent 8-2 win over Taverners, skipper Alan Maynard and Nick Williamson with maximums for the Trawlers. Torbay Academy 2 were too strong for NA Hawks, with Lucas Bradshaw and Ben Hoare going well for the Academy they ran out 8-2 victors.

Torre Titans lead the third division following their 7-3 victory over Torbay Academy 5, another Chris Harper maximum helping the Titans along the way. Keeping the pressure on at the top of the table Torbay Academy 4 also had a 7-3 victory, beating the NA Kites thanks to an Ed Damanskas maximum. Also in the hunt towards the top of the division the Hasbeens and NA Owls took a share of the spoils at Bishopsteignton, the Hasbeen’s Alan Tyrrell undefeated in the 5-5 encounter. A Steve Tucker maximum for Torre Panthers helped his side to a 7-3 victory over NA Harriers. A close encounter between two Brixham teams saw the Seals come out on top against the Dolphins 6-4 with the help of another Brian Pengelly maximum.

The Grove are flying high at the top of the fourth division, Peter Daly and David Pearson undefeated in their 8-2 victory over NA Ospreys. The experienced Torbay Academy 6 team of Jerry Hollings, Jean Neafcy and Denis Cramond whitewashed NA Merlins. Also going well near the top, Dawlish Diamonds had Peter Curtis stepping in with a maximum as they saw off the challenge from Torbay Academy 7. Katie Thain collected her first ever league maximum as NA Vultures defeated Brixham Swifts 9-1. Jasem Abu Ali was also undefeated for the Vultures.
