Return to the table
Preparations are underway to return to league table tennis!
All clubs/teams should now have received the necessary forms to enter teams in the South Devon & Torbay League for the 2021-22 league season.
The League Executive Committee recently met and agreed a considerable reduction in fees for the coming season. Less table tennis will take place to assist clubs/teams in dealing with possible Covid interruptions. There will be no Early Season Tournament and the Handicap Cups will not take place during the coming season. We have also agreed to drop the final doubles, reducing matches to 9 sets to aid social distancing and to assist clubs with a 10pm curfew.
Before the season gets underway an Annual General Meeting will take place at Barton Cricket Club on Tuesday 14th September at 7pm where we will wrap up season 2019-20 with the presentation of trophies. Your views in helping us recover and move forward following the pandemic would be most welcome. We are also looking for new blood on the committee following a couple of resignations
We are hoping to get everything in place for a mid October start to the season (week commencing 11th Oct 2021). Hopefully we will have enough teams for 4 divisions probably slightly smaller than last season. There will be more free dates to help with rearranging matches following possible disruptions.
We will be relying entirely on the website for all details and fixtures for the coming season as the time scales will make it extremely difficult to produce a handbook ready for the start of the season.
We hope you will all be looking forward to joining us for the new season
