PRESS REPORT – Sunday 12th Dec

We have reached the halfway stage of the season although several teams have had to postpone fixtures this week.  

There was just the one match in the first division which saw two Newton Abbot teams in action. A Tim Burridge maximum for the Eagles helped them to a 7-2 victory over the Condors.

The top match in the second division saw NA Falcons defeat Torre Titans 6-3, Mike Dummett was undefeated for the Falcons.  Holly Johns was in fine form as she helped Brixham Trawlers climb up the table with a 6-3 victory over Torbay Academy 2.  There was an excellent 6-3 win for the Taverners at Brixham over the Gulls, a Martin Dilkes’ maximum helping to lift the Bishopsteignton team off the foot of the table.

Torre Panthers continued their fine run of form and lead the third division by 3 points following their 8-1 defeat of Torbay Academy 3. Both Alan Tyrrell and Chris Garner with maximums for the Panthers.  Second placed NA Hawks were busy playing out two close encounters. Firstly, they defeated Dawlish 5-4 despite a maximum from Dawlish’s Jason Prescott. They followed up with an excellent battle with club mates the Kestrels. The Kestrels stormed into a 4-0 lead, the Hawks recovered well but still lost out 5-4 to third placed NA Kestrels.

New leaders of the fourth division are Torre Thunder, Charun Tatom’s 4^th maximum in a row helping them defeat NA Harriers 7-2.  Ionel Ichim and Kevin Palin were undefeated for Torbay Academy 6 as they beat Brixham Seals.   NA Vultures picked up their first win of the season following an excellent 6-3 win over NA Merlins. Andy Guy had a maximum and was well supported by youngsters Anton Shirt and Ethan Lee.
