PRESS REPORT – Sunday 5th Dec

NA Batmen still lead the first division following their 6-3 victory over Brixham Sharks, Adam Shipway making his first appearance of the season was unbeaten for the Sharks.  NA Buzzards closed the gap on the leaders with a comprehensive 9-0 victory at Halwell B. It was the Buzzards’ Herbie Sage, Lauren Loosemore and Kevin Nicholls third whitewash victory in a row and they now sit just 2 points behind the Batmen with 2 games in hand. David Davies’ 11-9 win in the fifth in the final set against Mark Smith gave NA Condors the victory over Halwell A 5-4.  Alessandro Mitranescu was unbeaten for Torbay Academy 1 but his 3 points were the Academy’s only points as they lost out 6-3 to NA Eagles.

Second Division leaders NA Owls widened the gap at the top of the table with a fine 8-1 victory at Bishopsteignton against the Taverners, Matt Cyron and Giles Tushingham were undefeated for the Owls, Colin Harrop picking up Taverners point.  Torbay Academy 2, with an excellent all round team effort, defeated NA Falcons 6-3.  A Paul Hine maximum helped his NA Raptors team to a narrow 5-4 victory over Brixham Trawlers.

Torre Panthers climbed to the top of the third division table with an impressive 8-1 victory over NA Ospreys, Chris Garner and Kai Holtham were unbeaten for the Panthers.  Torbay Academy’s 3^rd team got back to winning ways with a 6-3 victory over the Grove, but they couldn’t beat David Pearson who had a maximum for the Totnes team.  Quillan Wilson was in fine form as his maximum helped NA Kestrels to a 6-3 win over Torbay Academy 4.

The Fourth Division’s top team, Torbay Academy 5, had a comfortable 7-2 victory over NA Merlins, William Whittington with another maximum for the leaders. Torre Thunder, Charum Tatom, Eve James and Robert Excell, kept the pressure on in second place with a whitewash victory over NA Vultures. NA Kites, with Ivor Copley and Joe Holmes unbeaten, defeated Brixham Seals 8-1.  An Ionel Ichim maximum for Torbay Academy 6 gave them the upper hand in a close 5-4 victory over NA Harriers.
