There were no scheduled league fixtures this week, just a few rearranged matches and cup ties.
In the second division it looked like the bottom side, Taverners, were on for their first league win of the season as they romped into a 3-0 lead over Brixham Trawlers. However, the Trawlers won six of the remaining seven sets to win the match 6-4.
The Grove from Totnes kept up their unbeaten record in the third division with a fine 7-3 win at Torre over the Vikings, David Pearson collecting his 9th maximum of the season for the Grove. Andy Millman, with his 8thmaximum of the season, and Bruce Freeman secured maximums for NA Kestrels in an 8-2 win over clubmates NA Harriers.
The Handicap cups are heading towards the business stage now with the Singles Cup semi-finalists known.
Torbay Academy (4) secured their place with a comfortable 77point victory over NA Ospreys. The Academy’s Peter Moretta, John Fowler and Andy Harris eventually winning 374-297. Also through to the semi finals are NA Harriers who saw off the challenge from Brixham Trawlers. The scores were very close after the sixth set then the Harriers’ Ivor Copley, Dale Fabian and Keith Haslam took control winning the final three sets comfortably to win by a 47point margin.
The Singles Handicap Challenge Cup semi-finals see Torbay Academy 4 take on NA Raptors and NA Harriers facing Brixham Sharks.

The Doubles Handicap Dyment Shield has a bit further to go. Torbay Academy 7 have already made it to the semi finals and they are joined by NA Raptors who overcame Torre Titans 362-306. Again, close after six sets, the seventh proved critical as Huw Darch and Paul Hine secured a 30 point swing in the Raptors favour. Skipper Ed Moffatt joined in to seal the win by an impressive 56 points. The NA Raptors will play either Brixham Sharks or Torbay Academy 4 in one semi final while Torbay Academy 7 wait for a Newton Abbot team in the other semi-final, either NA Kestrels or NA Ospreys.
