Challenge Cup Final - Handicap Team Singles
Quote from our League Chairman who oversaw the precedings ‘It was a brilliant match played in a truly sporting manner with some amazing rallies. A contest fully befitting a final’

Congratulations to NA Parrots who tonight just got the better of Brixham Sharks 19-17 to lift the Challenge Cup. A fine all round team effort from Rhys Lush, Dan Webster-Hall and Ben Hoare who triumphed in a nail biting encounter which neither side took control of. Having said that the Parrots were never behind. Rhys Lush with the only 4-0 set win in the match put the Parrots in front 6-2 after set 2 and despite three 3-1 wins in the middle sets by the Sharks’ Joseph Edwards the Parrots did not let them get ahead. The score was level at 14-14 after set 7. Ben Hoare put the Parrots back in front with a 3-1 win over Clive Banham in set 8 so it was all down to the final set, Dan Webster-Hall v Chris Harper. Dan won the first game 11-5 but lost the next two 2-11 & 7-11 which meant the final went to the very last game, which Dan won 11-4.
So Congratulations to NA Parrots and commiserations to Brixham Sharks who will attempt to make amends on Thursday when they face the NA Harriers in the doubles cup final.
