A fine Martin Rant maximum helped Gnomads to a 30-20 home win over Stogumber A. In a strong team performance Julie Byrne and Nigel Forster took 2 singles each adding 7 a piece to Gnomads total. Rod Richards top scored for Stogumber and defeated both Byrne and Forster. Stogumber captain David Bryant suffered 3 fifth set defeats by margins of 9-11, 10-12 and 12-14.
White Horse narrowed the gap between themselves and Division 2 leaders Tonys Troopers with two wins in a week. Tony Burrows, Kerry Manicom and Sifa Vea each took 6 points from their singles in Troopers home fixture. Vea recorded a fine maximum in Troopers away match but the team total was restricted to 19 points. Ian Rew completed a maximum for White Horse in the first fixture but was denied by Vea in the second.
Maximums for Jamie and Mathew Short ensured a comfortable home victory for Mad Batters over Drifters. Liz Fletcher recorded Drifters’ only singles success with a straight sets win over Trevor Short.
Jack Lancaster top scored for House Martyns with 6 points from his singles. Team mate Ellie Baker added another 5.
Steve Palmer and Graham Lamacraft notched maximums for Barn Boys who also took maximum points from the doubles.
