Division 1
White Horse stayed on home ground when they entertained Basement Dwellers. The home team had the perfect start by winning the first set before stumbling, and never able to make up any ground on their opponents. David Bryant top-scored for White Horse with 4 sets with Ian Rew completing the scoring with a further 3 sets. White Horse concluded their evening with 7 points.
Basement Dwellers were on top form as they dominated proceedings all evening. Vince Court made good use of his pimpled hard bat to score a singles maximum, but it was again Toby Kerslake who served and powered his way to both an unopposed singles maximum, and the player of the match award. Danny O’Leary added an excellent 7 singles sets before Basement Dwellers scored an unopposed maximum in the doubles for a decisive victory with 34 points.
Division 2
Wanderers found themselves in Bampton where they were hosted by Roy’s Boys. Barry Hooper led the way for the home team with 7 singles sets, with Paul Sams adding 3 and Roy Hooper 2. Despite battling hard in the doubles, Roy’s Boys managed to win 4 sets for a total match score of 16 points.
Wanderers continue to develop, and Matt Lawrence picked up the player of the match award for his singles maximum. Solid support was received from Laurie Chalk with 6 sets and Cass Chalk with 5. A doubles maximum concluded a comfortable victory as Wanderers ended the evening with 29 points.

Division 1
Gnomads entertained last year’s champions, Wiveliscombe. It proved a hard match as the visitors piled on the pressure to make headway in the division 1 table. For Gnomads, the singles sets were divided equally between Martin Rant and Nigel Foster, each winning 5 sets. Tony Brooks helped to raise the doubles tally to 3 sets, leaving Gnomads with a total of 13 points for the evening.
For Wiveliscombe, both David Woodland and John Edbrooke scored maximums in the singles with John being awarded player of the match for his unopposed maximum. Paul Nutkins added the final 5 singles sets before Wiveliscombe completed the evening with a further maximum in the doubles and a final score of 32 points.
Wiveliscombe were in action for a second time this week when they were visited by White Horse. From the off the home side galloped away with the points. That said, during the evening no less than 13 sets were decided by the minimum two points. It was a re-run of Wiveliscombe’s match earlier in the week with both David Woodland and John Edbrooke again scoring maximums in the singles with John being awarded player of the match for his second unopposed maximum of the week. Paul Nutkins regained his form with an excellent 8 singles sets before Wiveliscombe closed out the match with an unopposed doubles maximum and a final total of 35 points.
White Horse showed a little promise at the start but failed to capitalise on the close fought sets and leaving them out of the running. Both David Bryant and Ian Rew were neck and neck in the scoreline with 4 singles sets apiece, and this was where the score-line ended with White Horse passing the finishing post with a total of 8 points.
