A narrow win for the home side in a match that included some very close games.  In the evenings' first match, John Handscombe recovered from 4/10 in the final set against Keith Cullen to win by 12/10.  The player of the night however was Dave (Mr Tottenham) Kirston, who showed all his skill and determination to win his 3 singles before teaming up with Ash Sivanandam to win the final doubles and clinch the match for his team.  Dave was ably supported by Ash who won 2 singles.  Mark Farley was Stanford's most successful player on the night with 2 wins.
